CURLY-LEAF PONDWEED

Curly-leaf Pondweed is an aggressive non-native underwater weed that can grow in up to 15 feet of water. It can form large, dense populations that can severely limit water activities and other water uses. The plants are highly branched with zigzag, strongly flattened and somewhat brittle stems. The upper portions of the plant grow horizontally just beneath the surface of the water. The leaves are submersed, alternative and oblong to linear. They have sharply-toothed margins and undulate. The leaves are often tinged with red. Sonar, either liquid AS or Sonar Q, are the best herbicide choices for this weed. For spot or margin treatment, Aquathol Super K Granular is excellent and easy to use.
