EURASIAN WATERMILFOIL

Eurasian Watermilfoil is an introduced species and is considered extremely problematic. It rapidly spreads by fragmentation and has potential to take over bodies of water especially since the vegetative growth is concentrated near the water’s surface. It has a tendency to shade out other more beneficial aquatic plants. It has long flexible stems with the leaves concentrated toward the upper ends, especially in turbid water. Actively growing portions of the plants often have a red coloration. The leaves are usually bright to dark green, in whorls of 4, up 1 inch in length. The flowers are on a long flowering stems above the water surface. Eurasian watermilfoil can be controlled with Sonar AS, Reward and Navigate Granular Herbicide.
