FROG'S BIT |
Frog's Bit grows primarily in bogs, marshes, swamps and shallow waters. The mature plants often resemble water hyacinth. Juvenile plants have heart-shaped leaves ½ to 1.25 inches across. The plants float by means of an inflated reddish-purple mass of spongy cells on the underside of the leaf. The emersed mature leaves reach a height of 1 foot above the water surface and often grow in large, tangled mats in shallow water. The leaves are in rosettes with thickened, spongy stems and are 2.5 to 8 inches long. Best control method is Reward with Cide-Kick or Renovate. |
