Pennywort
is a succulent perennial that usually forms dense mats along shores or
grows in floating mats. The stems are stout and up to 1/4 inch in diameter.
They are recumbent and root extensively at the nodes even when floating.
The leaf blades are up to 3 inches wide with a bright green color. Very
small inconspicuous white flowers are produced. Pennywort can be sprayed
with Reward and Cide-Kick, Rodeo and Cide-Kick or Weedtrine-D and Cide-Kick.
It was also be effectively and easily cut and raked up onto the shore
for removal by using a Water Weed Cutter II or Aquatic Weed Eradicator
and then raked with the Lake Rake.
